Operation and Adjustment of Machine

1. Preparation work:

(1) Start the power switch to let machine have idle operation, and then observe whether its work state is normal.

- The control machine must have a normal operation for more than 10 minutes;

- All parts of machine shall be under normal operation;

- The pulse power and electric appliance of machine shall have normal operation without error;

- The contact of all travel switches shall be sensitive;

- The valve of various pipelines of working solution shall be unobstructed with normal pressure, and the dust shall meet the requirement;

- All movement parts shall be refueled according to requirements.

(2) Add or change working solution.

Generally, it is suitable to change working solution every other one week.

(3) Determine whether to exchange wire electrode.

2. Adjustment of wire holder

The angle square or wire electrode vertical corrector is used to correct wire electrode vertical to workbench surface. The method is to loose the cap on both ends of guide wheel and fix bolt of guide wheel, adjust left and right position of guide wheel to make left and right position of molybdenum wire vertical to workbench surface. As for adjustment of front and rear position of molybdenum wire, the method is to loose the fastening screw of lower wire holder, and move lower wire holder to make the front and rear position of molybdenum wire vertical to workbench surface.

When it is required to change the height of cutting work piece, if we lift wire holder manually:

(1) Slightly loose 4-M8 screw at the reverse side of wire holder and 2-M8 holder screw at the side of wire holder before adjustment;

(2) Screw down the loosed 4-M8 screw at the reverse side of wire holder after rotating the upper handle of stand column to lift the wire holder to required height;

(3) Re-correct the perpendicularity of molybdenum wire.

If we lift wire holder electrically,

(1) Slightly loose 4-M8 screw at the reverse side of wire holder and 2-M8 holder screw at the side of wire holder before adjustment;

(2) Press down the scram button on electrical control panel; in case of rising, press down key A on the control panel; in case of falling, press down key B; after starting the lifting motor and lifting the upper wire holder to required height, screw down the loosed 4-M8 screw at the reverse side of wire holder and 2-M8 holder screw at the side of wire holder;

(3) Re-correct the perpendicularity of molybdenum wire.

3. Inspection on workbench

Press down the keyboard of control machine to control the key of stepping motor, shake the horizontal and vertical hand wheel of workbench by hand to inspect whether the stepping motor is caught. Input certain displacement amount to make dial have a forward and reversal, and inspect whether the dial returns to position “0”.

4. Work piece clamping

(1) Fix the fixture on the workbench.

(2) In the process of clamping work piece, the dial gage shall be used to align the base level of work piece according to drawing requirement to make work piece parallel to horizontal or vertical direction of workbench.

(3) Check whether the position of work piece is within effective scope of table travel.

(4) In the cutting process of work piece and fixture, any part of wire holder shall be not touched.

(5) After completion of clamping of work piece, all sundries on work surface shall be cleaned.

5. Adjustment of guide wheel

Upon adjustment of guide wheel, it is required to keep guide wheel rotate flexibly without axial movement. Upon replacement of guide wheel, the high-speed lubricating grease shall be added into the bearing.

6. Operation steps

(1) Start
Press down power switch to switch on the power.

(2) Input processing procedure into control machine.

(3) Open wire transport
Press down wire transport switch to let wire electrode have idle operation, and check shaking situation and degree of tightness of wire electrode. If the wire electrode is excessively loose, it is required to sufficiently tighten the wire in a uniform way. Upon cutting of taper work piece, please install wire tensioning device and tighten molybdenum wire.

(4) Open pump and adjust water injection capacity
Upon opening pump, please adjust control valve to closed state, and then gradually start, adjust the pump until the upper and lower water injection encase the wire electrode; it will be ok when the water column shoots towards cutting area, and the excessively large water yield is unnecessary. There is a drain hole at the front of bottom surface of upper wire holder; such hole shall be often kept unobstructed to prevent the ponding in upper wire holder from penetrating into electric appliance tank of machine.

(5) Open pulse power and select electrical parameter
The user shall select the best electrical parameters according to cutting efficiency, precision, and surface roughness requirements. When the wire electrode cuts into work piece, please pull open the pulse gap; after cutting into work piece, adjust pulse separation upon stabilization to make the processing current meet requirement.

(6) Start the control machine to enter into processing state. Observe whether the pointer is stable in the cutting process, and make meticulous adjustment to avoid short circuit.

(7) After completion of processing, firstly close water pump motor and then close wire transport motor, and check whether X and Y coordinate arrives at the terminal point. After X and Y coordinate arrives at the terminal point, dismantle the work piece, clean it and check the quality; if X and Y coordinate fails to arrive at the terminal point, check whether the inspection procedure is wrong or whether there is fault in control machine, and timely adopt remedy measures to avoid scrapping of work piece.

There is red scram button switch on electrical control panel and control panel of machine; in case of accident in operation process, press down such switch to realize power failure and shutdown.
